La Farge

The gîte is situated just across the lane from La Maison and can accommodate up to two people. Originally a Corrèzian stone-built barn, it has now been converted into comfortable, spacious accommodation surrounded by a private, tree-filled garden. There is a large parking space for your car immediately outside the gîte.

The accommodation is all on one level with an open-plan main room incorporating a kitchen area, a separate dining area and an open-plan lounge. Sit and gaze at the view of the hamlet from the large picture window whilst listening to the radio/CD player - or while away your time with one of the many paperbacks or board games provided.

The modern fitted kitchen has a full-size gas cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster, filter coffee maker, cafetière and a generous supply of crockery and cutlery. To get your holiday off to a good start, a Welcome Pack of fresh bread, milk, orange juice, butter, cheese, coffee and tea will be waiting for you with, of course, a bottle of wine!

The large bedroom has twin beds (which can be pushed together for those who prefer not to be apart), along with ample hanging and storage space for clothes. Bedding and linen are supplied (towels can be provided by prior arrangement). For added comfort, mosquito screens have been fitted to the bedroom windows allowing you to open the windows and let the beautiful country air flood in, whilst keeping stray flies and mosquitoes out!

The bright, cheery bathroom has a bath with a powerful overhead shower (which has its own excellent hot water supply). Additional comforts in the gîte include a heated towel rail, a hairdryer, an iron and an ironing board. There is no washing machine, but guests are welcome to make reasonable use of the machine in the main house. Out of season, heating is available in the gîte at no extra cost.

The gîte has a large, private, sunny garden which has been planted with sweet chestnut, lime and fruit trees. The garden has a table, chairs and sunloungers for those moments of the holiday when guests want to watch the world go by, have a leisurely meal outside or just relax and have a snooze. For outdoor chefs, the garden also has a barbecue.

La Maison has a lovely swimming pool in its garden. Guests staying in the gîte are welcome to use the pool, but we do make an additional charge of £45 per week and ask that you request use of the pool at the time of booking. Gîte guests are also welcome to join us for our four-course evening meals (32.50 € per person) which include an aperitif, wine and coffee. Further details can be found on the "Eating" page.
